Paula Siddall - It Doesn't Matter How You Choose To Take Part

My name is Paula and I’m a freelance designer. I read Ben’s book and was very moved and inspired by his story. I have a 10 year old son who I want to encourage and inspire by example.

I like to talk to him about Ben’s challenges and how it’s important to talk about our feelings and not bottle them up. Also, that there are many different types of people and that it’s ok to be different.

I decided to get involved in the Virtual USA Challenge as I wanted to support Ben’s mission to raise a million pounds for the 401 Foundation. I also loved the idea of doing a virtual mission (my first) and I want to inspire my son.

I love the fact that Ben wants to include schools in his mission and has a wellbeing programme for schools. It’s so important for kids to be encouraged to get active to make them feel good and manage any worries they might have - especially during a pandemic! So, in a very small way I want to support that.

I have loved the mission so far - especially during our (now third) lockdown in Wales. I’m not particularly worried about finishing it (although that will be a bonus!) as it’s immensely enjoyable being part of “team 401” in the Facebook group as everyone is so encouraging and kind. The best bit is the Facebook group and having somewhere to share the highs and lows of this challenge.

If anyone is thinking of joining this challenge then I urge you to join - it doesn’t matter how you choose to take part as everyone is encouraged and you can even clock up miles by ironing or doing housework! If you think you’d like to be part of a kind, friendly and non judgemental group of people then please sign up!

If you want to join Paula and take part in one of our Virtual USA Challenge missions, you can register HERE, where will your adventure take you?
