Primary Schools

Ben's story is one of triumph over adversity and it inspires and motivates all ages.

The way Ben tells his story brings to life the importance of accepting and respecting others no matter who they are, understanding that having resilience and persistence is key to overcoming tough times in your life and ultimately believing that the limitations we think we have are only in our own thoughts.

Perfectly pitched for 4-11 year olds, Ben uses examples such as your school field or playground to bring to life the sheer scale of The 401 Challenge. He touches on bullying and the harmful effects it can have on confidence and self esteem.

The interactive style of the talk has young people hooked from the very beginning and always asking so many questions at the end. The content is age appropriate with a goal of positively impacting the way each and every child views themselves and what they can achieve when they leave the assembly.

What's on offer

A fully bespoke package that suits your needs. Here are a few things you can pick from when you build the right package for you.

Assembly Talks

Ben is very experienced when it comes to explaining The 401 Challenge adventure to 4-11 year olds.

The talk starts with him identifying how many times round your school playground a marathon is and extrapolating this up to show your young people the true scale of The 401 Challenge adventure.

He explains why he did the challenge and how much he raised. Ben also talk about how it feels to be bullied and links this back to the why behind what he achieved.

The talk is extremely age appropriate, it's kept fun and involves lots of engagement with your young people throughout. There's always lots of questions at the end and your students will leave the assembly feeling inspired.

Ben’s 30-minute fun run is a great addition to his assembly talk.

Your young people will be eager to get outside and bring The 401 Challenge to life on their own school playground.

Ben’s talk covers how many times round your school playground a marathon is, now is the time to show them what that actually represents. There is always a real buzz as your young people get to run with him and ask him questions.

Your run can be arranged by year group, class, small group or whole school, it is up to you, just let us know your plan and we will take it from there.

Plus everyone gets a certificate at the end!

Primary Assembly workshop.png

Ben’s 45-minute workshop fits perfectly into your lesson timetable and involves setting your young people a challenge to cover a marathon distance in 15 minutes.

This can be done in either a classroom or assembly hall setting and includes both time inside for planning and evaluating and time outside for completing the challenge.

The workshop teaches skills such as goal setting, working together as a team, respecting and supporting one another, celebrating success and identifying the resilience and persistence it takes to overcome challenges.

We recommend no more than two classes per workshop to get the best results.

Firstly, thank you for all your help, being sensitive to our needs on an extremely important issue. I thought Ben was brilliant with the children engaging them from the get go. If we had more time it would have been wonderful to delve a bit deeper into bullying but hindsight is a wonderful thing. The message at the end was brilliant, have the courage to speak up which is what we absolutely encourage
