In 2015, Ben set off on an unimaginable challenge, running 401 marathons in 401 days. He raised £330,000 for two anti-bullying charities, driven by a passion to change the conversation about bullying due to personal experience.
His adventure inspired hundreds of thousands around the globe to not only make a difference in their own lives, but in the lives of others. The story could not end there, too much had changed in both his life and the lives of those affected by the challenge.
In 2017, Ben set up The 401 Foundation as the legacy of the 401 Challenge.
The foundation exists to help local communities empower individuals to build confidence, self-esteem and positively contribute to people’s mental wellbeing.
The vital funds raised provide accessible grants up to £3,000 for grassroots projects, supporting them to make an impact in their communities. This national charity has local communities at its heart and therefore ensures money raised gets invested back into projects within the fundraiser’s
Ben is now preparing for an extraordinary new challenge in May 2022. He will travel to the USA where he will run and cycle 14,000 miles across 50 states in 80 days.
His mission – to raise £500,000 for The 401 Foundation to help support grassroots mental health projects because everyone has a right to find their happy.
